We broke a low temperature record this week: -23F! (It's about thirty degrees warmer right now.) John's had a miserable cold which I've now caught. He's camping upstairs watching old movies because the back room where we have our big TV is too cold to be much fun.
I've spent almost a full month at my new gig. I've had some adjusting to do, and much of the adjusting has been good. The biggest change is that there's virtually no politics in the office. I'm still amazed at how much time I've spent talking with co-workers about office politics - totally useless waste of time. So I'm getting lots more stuff done. The biggest downside initially was the office configuration, but we've resolved most of those issues. I've been commuting to the office - about 15 miles each way - several days a week and hanging out here in my home office for the rest of the time.
